Can't make it out to Ringwood Manor for an on site visit with your students?
Consider utilizing our Primary Source Prompt activity to help students connect with history, creative writing, and documenting history as it unfolds in real time. Developed during the initial COVID pandemic lockdown in the spring of 2020, our Primary Source Prompt uses original historic documents in Ringwood Manor's archives to help students think about what is happening in their own lives. Corresponding writing prompts encourage the students to journal about modern history. It even includes a hands-on activity where students can make their own journal before starting the writing exercise. With 25 different primary sources and writing prompts, educators can utilize the activity as a multi-week exercise, or pick and choose individual documents and prompts to supplement their current lesson plans.
