1. In Washington's Footsteps
This program highlights our nation's first President, George Washington. Washington was known to have visited Ringwood at least five times during the Revolutionary War period and several of the out buildings and structures that he went to still exist! This program shows participants those features and talks about what they were used for and why Washington visited Ringwood in the first place. Walk where Washington actually walked over 240 years ago! * Please note: this program is outdoors and all participants and chaperones should dress accordingly. |

2. Rocks to Pots
Ringwood began as an iron-mining town. This program uses hands-on examples to show the students the steps taken between mined iron-ore and finished products. Includes a tour (but not demonstration) of Ringwood Manor's historic blacksmith shop. Students will design and make a tin-plate ornament to take home. *Please note: portions of this program are outdoors and all participants and chaperones should dress accordingly. |

3. Manor Games
This program focuses on historic games played by children who lived at Ringwood Manor. Participants will briefly learn how play time was different for Revolutionary and Victorian-era children. The participants will then play with reproduction historic games: hoop & stick, games of graces, nine pin bowling, trap ball, and more! *Please note: this program is outdoors and all participants and chaperones should dress accordingly. |

4. Brave Owls
For centuries, wealthy and important families had coats-of-arms that represented them. This program will briefly explain why coats-of-arms were used and students will see both George Washington's and the Hewitt family's coats-of-arms and learn about the various symbols and colors that represent merits, values, and virtues. The students will then design their own and have the chance to share their design with their class. |
