Currently, the two most popular class visits to Ringwood Manor are the half day visit or the full day visit.
Half day visits consist of two different lessons: a hike to the historic cemetery with lessons about General Robert Erskine and the Revolutionary War along the way, and an interior Manor House tours where 19th century social history and life is explained. Half day visits generally begin around 9:30am and end before noon, with students returning to school for afternoon lessons.
Full day visits require students to bring their lunch and eat on site, but also have the benefit of additional hands-on history activities such as a hike to the historic cemetery, gravestone rubbings, historic surveying and map making, interior Manor House tours, learning the "language of the fan," the 19th century custom of calling cards, and experiencing 19th century dress. The day also includes a visit to the historic carriage barn on the property to view the exhibit of carriages and equestrian equipment.
Both full day and half day visits to Ringwood Manor meet various core curriculum standards.
