The North Jersey Highlands Historical Society's History Program for April:
Join author Michael Gabriele on April 21st for a presentation all about colonial taverns. Taverns formed the social network that held the communities together by providing a meeting place for local government, political activities, business and social transactions. They were beacons for travelers and venues for entertainment. A selection of books will be available to purchase at the program. This FREE program will take place at 1:30pm in the Coffee Shop next to Ringwood Manor and is open to the public.
Sunday, May 5th- 19th Century Baseball
Double Header! Games Begin at 11:00 am & 1:00 pm Free admission Batter up! Ringwood Manor is calling all baseball fans to come see America’s favorite pastime played according to 19th century rules and regulations. On Sunday, May 5th, watch the Flemington Neshanocks take on the Elizabeth Resolutes! Both teams play following the rules established in 1873 and wear typical 19th century baseball uniforms.
Can't stay for the whole day? No problem- it's a double header! The first pitch is tossed out for a game beginning at 11:00am and a second at 1:00pm. Games take place in the field next to parking lot B at Ringwood Manor.
Free and open to the public! Bring your chair, a blanket, your picnic lunch, and cheer on your favorite team. We invite the public to come see how the game of baseball has evolved over 125 years! Steady rain cancels the event. Sponsored by the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society.
